Alright, so the Flecton guys show up at 7:30 on Saturday night and have to load all their gear into the house because the van they borrowed doesn't lock. So it was all like, "hi," "hi," hug-hug, "now hurry the fuck up and load in cuz it's cold out there."

ScottFlecton (aka ScottWerbo) walked in with a 24 of beer -- which we polished off over the course of the evening, along with a bottle of vodka, and a bottle of gin. Oh, and a bottle of port. And some other stuff that is more powdery. (They all smoked the pot, but I didn't cuz I was being stupid enough.)

The roomie gave Miche a belated birthday present of a child's violin, so much visual/prop comedy ensued with this large Native fella and this teeny tiny violin. So of course TomFlecton felt the need to start singing a new song he's been working on, "Celtic Nigger." He really wants to bring the two cultures together. (Something about tight red dreads and slavery that I can't quite remember.) Tom is the most politicallyl incorrect person I know and also the funniest.

Our friend Patrick showed up and I believe that's when Wonder Showzen season 2 went on but I'm hazy at that point. Then, after the roomie went to bed (lame!!!), my friend Josey showed up. When I went to get the door, the guys decided to drop trou and sit back down on the couch in their gitch as if nothing whatsoever was the matter.

Josey noticed right away, and I was so out of it, it was like, wow, it really seemed like they always just wear underwear around the house.

hilarious.

Anyway, a few minutes of the Mitch Hedbeg's video later and Pat left, traumatized, then Josey split after watching Scott hit on me for a while (I called her the next day and she was not traumatized by this, merely slightly grossed out --haha), then, you know, drunkenly _____ _____ ___ ____.*

I hate myself.

On Sunday, we all basically sat around drinking more and alternately watching more Wonder Showzen, napping, drinking, and waiting for Califone while drinking.

Hit the club 9:30-ish for Flecton's set, hung out a bit with the Califones, met Miche's boss who was in town, met Tim's girlfriend Gina who is AWESOME. Flecton were pretty amazing, but Califone were superb. I heart heart heart them. Stood in the crowd by myself most of the time, just singing and dancin' away...

Then after-party at our house, with 5 Califone peeps (including their sound guy, Ryan, who looks exactly like Will Forte from SNL but with a beard, and sadly excluding Ben who is not on this tour), 4 Flectons, and a half-dozen assorted pals and people I've never met before. Much much much drinking ensued, some drugging but this time just the smoking kind... very loud music (I'm sure the neighbour who shares a wall with us hates us), including everyone taking a turn on the tiny violin (Jim Becker of course can play it properly) and the tiny keyboard (it's all mini-instruments here), while Tom accompanied with new lyrics for every Elton John song you've ever heard (all of them vile vile lyrics -- delightful) before he finally had the balls to "treat" Tim & boys to "Celtic Nigger." Total crickets at first, then all laughed. (Whew)

The party guests left, then it was just all the band guys. As usual, Tim slept in the van, his girlfriend on the couch, Miche on the other one, Becker in the Becker room (he always seems to manage to nab the upstairs territory), and the rest on any available horizontal surface.*

The place was lousy with CaliFlectons, I tells ya!

And there was no _______ ___ ______ at the end of the night.**

I guess these stories aren't very dirty. Or interesting. Sigh.

Yesterday, the bands were loading up here and practically out the door for Montreal before I even woke up. There was NO way I was gonna be able to make it -- even if both vans weren't full, I woulda been barfing the whole way. Cuz that's pretty much how I spent my day off yesterday. Fun times.

Anyway, it's always sad to see people off after such an intensive hangout (remember how I was all weepy when I had to part from the Home boys?), so prolly just as well that I napped through most of it...

Wonder how the Montreal show went. Matt? Dan? Stories!!!!

so charlie crist(r) (fla guber candidate/future oxymoron)  snubs the w by NOT SHOWING UP to his rally in pensacola. in a show of class and republican solidarity, rove responds by mocking him.    scroll down

the remark about george not mentioning katherine harris is bullshit, though.  he did tell the "faithful" to vote for her.  he named every republican on the local ballot.

Yep. He's been there for a while I think. Obviously went back to Chicago to record and stuff, but dunno if he'll go back there for good... Weird given he and Ben have been "together" for 20 years or something...

I'm about to go vote. My voting station is in the clubhouse on an extremely republican golf-course. They always give me snotty looks whenever I go in there.

It might be because I go dressed as Osama Bin laden.

Mostly I'm looking forward to the live Daily Show/Colbert Report. That and watching the Republicans get their asses kicked. (crosses fingers)
