so me and the missus final finished painting our downstairs last night...took a little then longer since i screwed up the ceiling.

But it looked really nice. Until we got a little crazy and had a little paint fight...it all started out so innocently and the next thing you know paint was flying everywhere.

Then Mrs. Gareth walked in and informed us that we'll still have to work for her to pay off all the damages we did...

oh well, that's the facts of life

Pogo is having technical difficulties.  He'll be back soon, I hope.

I wonder how much money Mr. Buffet has stashed away in tax havens?

Sorry, but you don't get to be obscenely wealthy by being a good boy scout.

why can't you just let the man do a good deed...he's giving a shitload of money away...and no, he's not going to be living like a monk...but he's still doing something good.

i mean he could of gave it all to his son, who do doubt would have released tons and tons of more summer beach friendly songs about drinking, sailing, and getting loaded on his dad's dime.

yeah! what brainfiber said!

As I said before, I think it's great Mr. Buffet cares so much about the little people.

I just love charity.

Why is Mr. Buffet doing this?  Rich man's guilt?  Tax deductions?  What?

These guys spend most of their lives being unethical greedy bastards, and then they get old and decide to wage a pr campaign to assuage their conscience:  "Yeah, I was an asshole, but look at all the money I gave away!"

I wish we could somehow weigh the good they're allegedly doing with their charity against the bad they have done...

For instance, do you think the Gates foundation compensates for Microsofts' monopolistic practices?

Is that a rhetorical question?

I don't Buffett was unethical...just a wise, patient investor...he bought stock and just sat on it...instead of buy and selling every freaking day to make a quick buck.

and i think i read he's doing it cause one day he doesn't want to be writing "anne nicole smith" a check for billions...he actually said something about that.

and doesn't wealth mean alot of different things...i mean to the little poor share cropper playing cigar box guitar you're a super wealthy man with all your guitars and pedals...

poor guy made strings from old shoelaces

you greedy bastard...

so you're saying microsoft has done no good?

Do you think you'd be posting on this website today if it wasn't for the technological advances that microsoft played such a big part in?
