WHAT!!! No Comedy Central in Montreal...what are they boycotting it until they have some Jerry Lewis movies on there?

jeff daniels is to boy wonder as Peter Parker is to ________.

some kid wanted to fight me on the way to work today...I think caused i dissed him in front of his girlfriend. And by dissing him I mean merging in front of his car. It was so funny...he was giving me the finger and freaking out and i totally ignored him...then he passed me right in the middle of this town main street...a place you'd usually not pass somebody...and then he was giving me the finger in the rearview...actually it was "the finger and the thumb."...it was hilarious...then he had to stop for a light and i had to go right so i blew him a kiss.

Man i'm getting older and wiser*

so how about this for a freak out...

last night at 2am i'm awoken by my wife screaming (once again) and our smoke alarm beeping...i jump up crazed in that "half asleep still but everything's getting real real quick"

and then it stopped

i ran down to the basement...since (and i didn't know this) smoke detectors are now hooked up electrically so if there's a fire, say in the basement, it'll set the alarms out throughout the house.

but we found nothing. then we checked carbon monoxide and they were fine...it was just crazy scary...probably the ghost of that mouse i killed gnawing on some wires.

Freaking ghost mice...i hate them!

No takers on my hot car/cold coffee question yesterday. I'd still like to know how that works.

No takers on my hot car/cold coffee question yesterday. I'd still like to know how that works.

I think this is definitely a Dan question but I have a couple of thoughts:

1) The average mouth is 98.6 degrees, right?  Everyone knows that.  So a liquid is going to have to be hotter than that in order for it to feel hot to you.

I actually just took the time for some reason to do a little experiment for your benefit.  I heated a cup of water to 92 degrees.  It tasted way colder than a good cup of coffee should be.  I then heated it up about 95 degrees and that was just about close to acceptable.  So unless your car is hotter than, say, about 95 degrees or more, your coffee's going to taste too cold.

2) A lot of it is probably perception too.  if a can of Coke were 92 degrees, you'd definitely think it was hot, so I think it has to do with your level of expection of how hot coffee needs to be.

Now why I wasted 10 minutes doing that is a question I'd like someone to explain to me.

Also if they could explain this cold coffee culture.
