Alright, I'll give you a moment to read question number one from Josey's column before you answer me.

Oh, sure, now you come around.

I'm just sitting around drinking some Sotol and watching bad TV.

$1 beers? Now that sounds like some American ingenuity!

Nothing gets me out of the house quicker than a $1 beer. Or multiple labia piercings

DRIVE LIKE JEHU DOESN'T SUCK!

Heathen!

Well, actually their first record is so-so, but I love yank crime (their second and last).  Do you compute and Luau kick major ass.  That's my opinion and I'll stick to it.  Tongue

I've always liked "Step on Chameleon"...but that's probably 'cause Reis sings on it and it was on the first RFTC 7" mix someone gave (and it took me a while to realize it wasn't RFTC) me.

I just can't get into major label stuff like that.  Tongue

Jokes asside:

When I was at CD Esoterik on one of those final nights I managed to talk a guy into buying the last copies of Eureka and One Sock Missing, but he wouldn't buy Full Blown Possession (despite listening to both Eureka and FBP at the listening corner and digging them) because, and ONLY BECAUSE it was Sub Pop.

I say "talked", but he actually came to me and said, "I've been told by reliable sources that you know your indie rock and you could tell me what to buy."

I clearly know very little about indie music (or music at all)...the only reason I can think of anyone pointing this guy to me is because a) everyone was wasted except me b) most everyone who worked there specialized in avant garde noise musique actuelle, and they had, for the most part, reduced the amount of indie/post rock there, and I suppose I do know enough about what I like to point people in the direction of it.

On the closing night I should have grabbed that last FBP copy for the hell of it and given it someone. Still regret not doing that. Do like that, out of the four Grifters CDs there I bought one and 'sold' two.

Oh yeah, the night of that show I played on New Year's, the (former) owner of the store took me aside and thanked me for the years of patronage (the store started back in West Island not far from W _ _ _ _ 's in a town neighbouring Pointe-Claire...I first started going there when I was in high school)...techincally I was the longest-running patron, and he said "I'm really happy you bought that Grifters disc, I always associated the Grifters with you because I was always happy that they had diehard fans like you because they're a brilliant band that not enough people know about and..." well, he kinda went on like that...and I forget exactly what it was...(a lot of drinky drink and...whatnot).

Anyway, I didn't really know he liked the Grifters that much until he started drunkenly gushing about them on New Year's...I meant to talk about this, but I can't recall if I ever got around to it.

Uh, anyway.
