Freakwater were two of M. Dunn's friends in Chicago, one or both of whom had been in Eleventh Dream Day. (Y'know, one of they're songs was about M. Dunn. The song about the girl who smashes the glass against the wall and likes to dance real slow? That's M. Dunn.)I got to meet them both on a couple of occasions, and of course had nothing interesting to talk about. Some musicians are so freaky, you can't make normal conversation with them. They travel around in groups of 4 or 5 and end up only being able to relate to those 3 or 4 or 5 people. With everyone else, it's weird. I'm not saying all bands who tour are like that, but a lot are. A lot of band guys are just fucking oddballs. I guess because they're not really living ordinary lives, it becomes more difficult to relate to the people who are? I don't know, maybe that's why they're called freakwater.

I'm leaving my guitar in open g and playing without a pick until I become one of those dextrous right hand guitar picking dudes.
