I'm a bit torn about about whether or not a "best of" disc would be better than my proposed "Crappin' Redux" set.

Do you guys have the rights to the subpop recordings?

I like the Idead of a Crappin redux....

in my perfect world we'd re-record Crappin and Eureka live and toss in a few rarities.

At this time the Sub Pop stuff is an unknown.

there really is no definite plan, thus ya'lls input would be helpfull.

I'd like to hear the Grifterized version of "Two Week Vacation" on there.

I'll come back with more ideas later.

The roofies call!

the Kid speak the truth.  i'm going to need more time.

although, now that danny boy is shamming us all, i suppose i can spit out the jams in spurts instead of building up to the enormous splooey.

Uhhh, the shammed/shamed thing was intentional, in case you're wondering...

Caw, we all know from your bathroom breaks that you like to take your time, so just give us the big splooey.

which one of y'all is sitting on the live grifters treasure trove of tapes?  before i compile any sort of list, i need to know if we're really supposed to cough up our "top 20" favorites from the official recordings?

i think all of us who bore witness to the shapeshifting organism that was the grifters on stage would agree that those flashes of brilliance and sloppy genius were never captured in studio scenarios.

for example, love explosion would have to be included in this list, but not the version from "so happy together."  but which live incarnation should be?

here's my newbie grifters comp:

1. queen of the table waters
2. just passing out
3. re-entry blues
4. banjo
5. corolla hoist
6. mysterious friends
7. eureka i.v.
8. love explosion
9. black fuel incinerator
10. wreck
11. the casual years
12. thumbnail sketch
13. soda pop
14. junkie blood
15. felt-tipped over
16. divine (she blows blasts of static)
17. contact me now

however, i really like kurt's idea. except for the kingdom of jones/disfigurehead thing 'cause then you might as well just release that 'no particular slogan' comp and be done with it. which is another idea.

wrong again, matthew.

this seems like a good time to cough up a potential comp title:

If We Wait For Others To Remember...

okay, so the ellipsis part is lame, but the sentiment seems sound.  perhaps that will be one of the subheads in the liner notes.

good lord, there's a lot to consider in all of this.  i might need a couple of deadline extensions.  it's a good thing we're working on GST here:  grifters standard time.
