here's a snapshot from the caw family friday evening: we all go to atomic records, where holden immediately sees multiple images that freak him oot and lead to endless questions. he gets momentarily distracted when he sees a vinyl copy of let it be and shouts oot "it's the beatles!" so, we head over to the vinyl section, and i end up having to explain the cover of houses of the holy for five minutes.
good times.

that's it!
it must of been really confusing when you had to tell him the song houses of the holy actually wasn't on houses of the holy...
and the whole pronunciation of Dyer Maker...that can scar a kid for life.
somebody i'm going buy #4 or zoso or whatever you call it...i think i have all the tunes, but i lost my cd with "when the levee breaks" i love that.
i guess i could download it...but it would leave me feeling dirty.

holden is okay with albums that don't feature songs of the same name, and songs of the same name as album titles being on different albums. GBV has helped him accept this ancient practice of the classic rock era.

I think I hate live albums.
I usually like a song or two, but I can't sit through a whole live album comfortably.
I do quite enjoy bands that record their albums live (in studio or wherever) without an audience.

That's probably the only novel about postal fraud in the english language.

I'm not a big fan of live albums, 'specially big stadium thingies. I quite like Alejandro Escovedo's "More Miles Than Money: Live 1994-1996," though. Partly because the selections are from different (smaller) venues over a wider period of time -- so you get a range of moods and experiences -- and partly because I just heart him. Oh, and he covers "I Wanna Be Your Dog" which totally rocks.
