Actor, poet, and Warhol superstar Taylor Mead is unequaled as the insouciant pop enigma who's seen everything and done it all. Taylor was in San Francisco in '56 when the beat poetry scene got going and was famous for standing up on a bar and screaming his poetry over the noise all the drunks were making. His films for Warhol include Kiss (1963), Tarzan and Jane Regained... Sort of (1963), Taylor Mead's Ass (1964), Imitation of Christ (1967), and Lonesome Cowboys (1967). Taylor Mead continues to write and perform poetry. During 2003 he will be performing every friday night at The Bowery Poetry Club in New York.

"In her provocative Through the Flower series, Judy Chicago’s floral motif was stylised rather than realistic, representing female sexuality in a vaginal iconography as an essential source of dignity rather than shame." Yeah, what she said.

I would so never pose nude. For Anne Geddes.

what?
i get sucked away by library work for an hour, JSG runs off to comixland, and nobody has anything to offer?
did anybody else see "coffee and cigarettes" up in here?
cate blanchett was fabulous, darlings. i would serve her espresso in a large cup with warm milk on the side any day.
and i don't really believe matthew will end up resembling taylor "shakey" mead, but there was something in his disposition and delivery that struck me as somehow gosseianic.

i'm currently writing picture captions aboot the memphis cotton carnival for a book on cotton we're doing. so i have nothing to offer. i keep checking in regularly to see if something interesting's happening, but so far it's all been comix and talking aboot JSG's wet vagina.
