But now, seriously... If I only restricted myself to stuff made by irreproachable people, I would get very bored very quickly.  There's Polansky the individual, and there's Polanski the film maker.  I may not like the individual, but the film maker made a lot of good movies.

While I agree with your basic idea there, I find that any line I try and draw between bad behavior I can overlook and bad behavior I can't consistently ends up with "raped a kid" on the wrong side of it.

Yeah, but what does that mean in practice?  Refusing to watch Chinatown for ever?  Glare in fury whenever I see Polanski's picture?  Take that Roman Polanski! 

Polanski's problems are between him and whomever.  I'm not a judge, I'm not a D.A., it's none of my business.

All my clothes are brown, because I'm full of shit.

Actually, almost all of my clothes *are* brown, or were chosen to match with brown. It's because I'm too cheap to maintain both a brown wardrobe/jacket/shoes set and a black one.

I'm mostly black jeans and black band T-shirts.  I hate shopping for clothes.  If I get a job outside academia, I'll need to diversify a bit.
