now you've got yourself two good hands and when your brother is troubled you've gotta reach out your hand for him cause that's what it's there for. and when your heart is troubled you've gotta reach out your other hand to the man up there cause that's what he's there for.

The Boss's new song:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/RHPx3RghAKw" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/RHPx3RghAKw</a>

Now, I realize this song is more a call to action than a statement of achievement. And I realize he's chiding the people who don't live up to this. As ever, I'm with him on sentiment.

But, uh, "Wherever this flag is flown/We take care of our own"?

Haven't listened...don't know if I should. Think I'll just listen to the three cd set from 75-84

I wonder if he'll go on tour without a sax player...hard to replace the big man...

in other music news...

did you know Prince's "I would die four you" song is the perfect teeth brushing song. Try it...not sure what instrument that is in it...shakers...washboard...stick with a gourd type thing...but whatever it is, the rhythm is perfect for brushing.

(baking a note of that)

Beach Boys' "Vegetables" is pretty good too.

Have you ever the Quincy Jones/Bill Cosby tunes...particularly Hikky Burr (take two) with Cosby rapping over the whole thing. It's guaranteed to get you out of our seat and have you spaz dancing wherever you may be.

I brush my teeth to Dr. John's theme song to Curious George every morning, though this is not so much a choice.

maybe it's because i've got brother love's traveling salvation show stuck in my head, but this sounds like a neil diamond song.  and not the good kind. thing about bruce is he's the only person i can think of that can get the left behind him because of his politics and get the right behind him because they misinterpret/don't bother listening to his lyrics. (see reagan/born in the USA) this song will be no exception.  i imagine that lyric will soon be added into some right wing talk show host's intro music...right after "we'll put a boot in your ass, it's the american way".

romney is being raked over the coals right now by the left and the right.  if he survives (and i think he does) he's damaged goods come general election time.  and gingrich never had a chance to beat obama.  his unfavorable rating is something like 70%.  somewhere right now, david plouffe has a boner.

Speaking of Dr. John... I am assured by reliable people that he used to be cool. The first record. I should Spotify that today.
