Hmm, I couldn't see that mandolin link without a login. But I like a lot of older Gibson mandolins. There are some really good deals for vintage oval holed mandolins out there right now. They're not loud enough for straight-ahead bluegrass, but alot of them have a sweet tone for playing along with one or two other instruments.

I've decided that this is the year I'll be getting an f-style mandolin, but probably through trade rather than putting any money toward it.

Dragoon got together last night.. the whole band.!  'happy to report our improv skills are still sharp.. We came up with many new riffs..    and I'm hoping we're going to be able to record little things and share them much more frequently..

Hey,  regarding the cover, I was thinking I like the way all the little ripples in the ocean add black to the drawing. So I think it's good for the composition.

I did my little tricks to the cover.. I'm liking it better now.. I made the inked parts of the water fade out some towards the horizon, adding the illusion of depth of field.. I also added more water spray around the monsters and I darkened up the green monster. It just needed a little more dynamic range... I'm planning on having this thing done today.. Just gotta do the mountain and the sky and the text.. I know how I'm gonna layout the text now..  I was thinking I'd just go for the straight-up 50's Superboy logo.. kinda..   for the sky I'm going to recycle an old bit of art I did that you maybe might recognize from my comicartfans page..

My brother, who lives in Portugal, is thinking of coming back to Canada.  He says he's sick of the economic crisis in Portugal, and he blames the Portuguese for it.  He sounds quite mad, and he bitches about the place with a lot of intensity.  In his rants, the stupidity of the portuguese people is a regular motive.  He complains about their racism, their obsession with soccer, their catholicism, their ignorance, laziness and blahblahblah...

The funny thing is, I continuously hear similar things from americans and canadians bitching about their own compatriots.  I'm guilty of it myself. 

Anyway, I told him that Canada ain't no El Dorado, and that he won't get rid of stupid people by moving.

He is thinking of moving to Vancouver, the idiot.  You know, instead of coming to Montreal, where he knows people and he has a brother, he wants to move to the Royal Kingdom of Petrocanadia.  He can't stand the weather in Montreal.... 

If weather is that important to him, he should stay where he is.  Or move to the Caribbean or something.

We're trying to put together the money/paperwork to file for Tilda's citizenship before the end of the winter.

Assuming she's approved, life is good. If she's not... Well, shit... I don't know. Guess we move to Romania.

S____'s dad....  they said he might get out tomorrow but I don't see that happening.. He can barely stand.. He's a trooper though. Constantly picking up everyone else's spirits..  but I'm pretty worried..

He'll be dragging his girlfriend along too!  Poor girl doesn't know what she is in for.  She's an architect, apparently.  Her degrees won't be recognized, and her education will be useless. She will end up cleaning hotel rooms or something like that, some low pay menial job.  That's what happened to my parents. 

Immigrating was great for me, but it fucked my parents over.
