Yeah, pretty pissed off about that too...  I already woke up today primed to slap some fools.. SO far nothing has persuaded me to change my mind..  It's gotten to where I don't want to look at FB anymore because it's nothing but posts from OWS  and Talking Points etc.. and EVERYTHING SUCKS apparently..   REALLY sick of reading about cops spraying and tasing people for no reason..  Those fat motherfuckers need to have their god-damn nuts tazed...

So the first time I got in trouble, I got a stern talking to. The second, a write-up, the third I was put on a sort of probation.  The next step would be to let me go. We'll see what they say after they talk to this woman.

It is theoretically possible for my family to survive if I go on unemployment.  But it would be rough. Like, cancel the phone,  unplug everything that isn't essential, no one buys anything,  coupon clipping, beans for dinner rough.

Sort of.    They pay into an insurance fund for each employee.   The insurance pays out the claim.

The tricky part is that if a company has a large number of claims in a year, their rate goes way up  (just like if you have 5 car accidents in one year).      This is what makes employers sometimes fight against people getting unemployment benefits.  (the can go to the board and claim that you didn't work enough hours to qualify, or you actually quit, etc etc.)   It can get ugly if you work for serious douches.
