"The chief problem about death, incidentally, is the fear that there may be no afterlife -- a depressing thought, particularly for those who have bothered to shave. Also, there is the fear that there is an afterlife but no one will know where it\'s being held."

At work. Recovering from last nights awesomely overblown Danzig show. 6,000+ people at the Gibson Amphitheater. Opening acts were Asesino (ex-Brujeria - Mexican death metal - awesome) and CoC (a "reunion" as a trio - sloppy and sad).

For this show Glenn opened with a 9-song "Danzig" set, followed by a 7-song "Samhain" set, wrapping up with an 8-song, crowd-pleasing "Misfits" set. The encore consisted of three more "Danzig" hits, followed by a ridiculously energetic version of "Skulls", where Glenn let his roadie sing co-lead with him. Dorky goodness.

Thanks, ye.

Suckage about the snow. Really? Snow?

I picked the last of the tomatoes over the weekend here (still green, but I can wrap 'em in newspaper and hopefully they'll ripen) and pulled apart the garden -- everything but the swiss chard, kale and herbs which are all still going strong. I don't think we've even had frost yet, let alone snow. Yucky. We'll get hit with it soon enough....

Chill in the air, but sunny. I'm ok with that. It's the gray, damp chilled-to-the-bone kind of days in fall that I can't stand.

Yay to all!

Does anyone in the world care about these people? For some reason, those chicks really push my hate buttons.

looking at the set list from last night's danzig "legacy" show that jesse was fortunate enough to attend...it seems we struck some common ground.   we both opened with "initium/samhain" followed by "all murder all guts all fun".   we both played "let the day begin" and "to walk the night"  back to back, although we reversed the order.  we were gonna do "unholy passion" but ruled in favor of "moribund" instead, due to the fact that shane didn't feel comfortable doing a song about fucking for the evil of it.  he's right.  nothing evil about fucking.  if so, you're doing it wrong.   we also chose not to do "mother of mercy" or "archangel" as they seemed like the most obvious choices.   we decided to end with "halloween II" for the obvious appropriate reasons (a slower, heavier version of a misfits song which samhain later reworked as their own.)  seems glenn opted for the misfits version.
