I ran across this as an mp3 years ago and sort of assumed it was just a fan that had stitched together the two halves of Pigs on the Wing with his own Gilmouresque solo.    But I guess it was in fact the real deal.    Its pretty  sweet.

I'd not heard of that movie before. It sounds like a South Park parody of a bad Adam Sandler movie. Terrifying that it's an ACTUAL Adam Sandler movie.

The new Ryan Adams record is supposedly his best since Heartbreaker.

I might check it out on Spotify, but I'll probably spin Heartbreaker for a while instead.

I don't get the Jack and Jill reference.... Did they fall down the hill and into theatres?

I canceled my netflix disc service, but I'm keeping the streaming.  There's just so much stuff I watch on there.

Mad Men
Breaking Bad
Star Trek (they have every variation)
X-Men TAS
and a bunch of other cartoons, too many to list
Beauty and the Beast
Sports Night
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I could keep going.  It's a really good service.

I just download that kind of stuff and save on my external drive. (Thanks, Jeff.) This way I always have it and can also burn shows for others, if they ask.

You download cartoons and the Star Track?  I never would've guessed, Karen.  ;-)

I said that KIND of stuff (the cable junk), not exactly that stuff.

For the record, I have seen every episode of Buffy, ever. I loved that show, so fun. I never saw the Star Track movies, but I can tell you I saw a few seasons of TNG back in the 90s. And never saw Beauty and the Beast cartoon, but did watch the live action series back in the day. Is that nerd enough for anyone?

Best bit, imo:

Cap, to Tony Stark/Iron Man: Big man in a suit. Take that away and what are you?
Tony: Genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.

S___'s family is Episcopalian, yes..  And they have some stout wine at communion. I didn't really want to partake, mainly out of a desire to not insult someone's faith but I figure it's more of an insult to refuse.. Especially since S___'s dad is very religious and very involved with his church. No need for any extra drama from the family agnostic or whatever I am..

I get that. I didn't mean to imply you should be rude. I just meant that, at this point, my family knows better than to even ask or expect me to follow them into the communion line is all.....

It's dicey dealing with my family on Christianity. They were Cumberland Presbyterians for the longest time, and that denomination considers religion a private, internal thing. So they never bugged me much on it. But my oldest brother and many of my folks' friends and neighbors are much pushier born-agains. And my folks are getting more religious as they get older.

So far, we've gotten by with vague "We're not big on church" statements, with occasional diversions like allowing Simon to be baptized to throw them off the trail. But I think the question of whether we'll be giving the kid a church upbringing may being it all to a boil. I worry.

I feel for you walking in on that stuff, Tripp. I can smell that shit coming in my family.

Considering how much you fought me when I insisted you'd love getting your tv this way... I gotta say hearing you get cocky about it is pretty cool.

That's because you initially made it sound so complicated.... The step-by-step stuff really helped me out but prior to that it was all pops and buzzes over here.

Yeah, religion. Such a weird thing. What differentiates "Cumberland" Presbyterians from any others? (I genuinely don't know.)

It was hard telling my parents I didn't want to go to church anymore, etc., but I just reminded my mom that my grandma didn't bring them up in church (my mom converted to Catholicism when she married my dad, though she did, on occasion go to whatever church my great-grandfather was preacher for....United, maybe?) and she was considered one of the nicest ladies ever, so it was better to just be a general good decent person, than to sit in a specific building and follow specific tenets, etc., and that seemed to do the trick.
