Tonight: 6:00 -- street theater featuring my girl
7:00 -- AC/DC cover band at Rockin on the River...A friend of mine gives his final performance as Angus Young, then duckwalks off into the sunset.
Saturday -- Cook-out, new episode of Dr. Who, maybe some avant jazz.
Sunday -- Akron Cooking Coalition potluck party.

Is it David Bowie's fault?
Well, of course he bears some responsibility....but I would say drugs and a rush to market adversely affected the original recording decisions more than anything.

some context:
"The album was recorded in London's CBS Studios, from September 10-October 6, 1972. Iggy produced and mixed the album by himself; unfortunately, his botched first attempt mixed most of the instruments into one stereo channel and the vocals into the other, with little regard for balance or tone quality."
(this is where the drugs come in. i imagine a clearheaded iggy would not have made such a mistake...nor would his ears accepted it as satisfactory)
"Tony DeFries, the head of MainMan, informed Iggy that the album would be remixed by David Bowie..."
(not RE-RECORD, which was what was really necessary...but re-mix...you can't polish a turd) "
"Iggy agreed to this, claiming that 'the other choice was I wasn't going to get my album out. I think DeFries told me that CBS refused to release it like that, I don't know,' but insisted that his own mix for "Search and Destroy" be retained. Due to budgetary constraints, Bowie remixed the other seven songs in a single day in an inexpensive Los Angeles studio, Western Sound Recorders, in October 1972. According to Iggy, the mixing session took place in one day.'
(this would be the rush to market)

Search and Destroy is the best track and that's Iggy's mix? The sound is white hot.
I'd like to hear his mix for the whole album.

Can't believe I missed Kim FBP!
Wednesday night had tornado warnings which devolved to tornado watch, then to severe thunderstorms, till it all died out about 12:30am. (The lightning was completely vertical at times - a really beautiful storm. The CNE -- which is like a state fair -- had to be closed down. Really major electrical storm, sheets of rain. Beautiful...from indoors.) So..... maybe the Hurricane will dissipate....somehow......?

We had planned a camping trip to Maine, but cancelled now. Instead we're going to Rochester to stay with Ei's brother. Seems like a good weekend to skip town.

totally. fair food is what i'm thinkin. i've been associating it with chili-cheese tater tots.
by the way...unfortunately, there is no proper context for my avatar. when browsing the internet, if i come across an avatar worthy image/gif, i save it in my "potential crappity avatar" folder. (i got a million i'm gonna spring at any moment. christmas/halloween ones too. stockpiled.) i pulled this from there. in this case i believe i was exploring the "similar" images to the famous "sarah palin derp-a-derp" gif which i believe i posted here once. if not, here 'tis.
