Also, my weird week of sister health worries caused me to omit that I have a painting in a show that opened in TriBeCa tonight. It was very sparsely attended because ... wait for it ... the ac went out there yesterday as the show was being installed

I'm going to have to find a way to get to the mountains every summer. It was about 84 today. We went to some little ski village and walked around, had lunch, got my sister's kids some ice cream. Put our feet in an ice cold mountain stream. It's a little slice of heaven, I tells ya. It's probably about 65 right now.
S_ _ _  got me a shrimp hook up the first day. I didn't even have to talk to anybody. I'd pretty much come to terms with not having any. It's funny cause I was kinda looking forward to de-shrimping my brain for a few days. It is some awfully wonderful shrimp. I love it here. I need to figure out what I could do in Vail or nearby to make a living so I could live here. I forget how much I can be 'awakened' by some really good nature. I have such a different kind of energy and attitude when I'm in the mountains. It's so nice to be away from Hell, Texas. Whether it's the mountains or not, we've pretty much decided that we're going to get out of that state as soon as we can make it happen. Maybe a year to plan and pick a place. There really is no reason why we couldn't live anywhere we wanted. It really comes down to the lifestyle we're willing to settle for and how much we're willing to rely on chance.

Not that it's all that long, but I haven't had a cig since Monday. This is the first moment I've really really wanted one, but I'm not giving in to it tonight.
