I was asked by my brother why we bothered with space; what did we ever get out of it. I told him, "If you don't know, I can't explain it to you."
I'm going to miss the shuttle, and look forward to seeing what's next. I guess the private investors will step in and provide space vacations to the super rich.

man, I miss my friggin wife... She's been gone almost 2 weeks now. Saturday she went from Iowa to Georgia (to a writer's retreat) and I guess up in the mountains there she has no reception cause I get no emails and no calls.... I hate this..
