Yay for Super Peers!     Even though I'm generally wary of nation-building.

Wye Oak did awesers last night.     Really proud of them.

They even got a Questlove tweet!  “@wyeoak’s drummer just topped billy ray cyrus’ drummer for most inventive performance on a late night show!”

Fallon was very nice.   Came back to the green room and hung out for a bit before the taping.

Caught just a split second of Mila in make-up chair, so I didn't have a chance to work my magic.

I had a dream that Jesse was taking me to a show last night.  The bands were playing in a big barn....uhhh not sure what that was doing in Silver Lake.

Most pics of Jupiter actually do look like raw bacon, Dan.

Here too. Three days in a row at 30C constitutes a heat wave and we've had four (so far), with another week ahead. Thursday is supposed to feel like 46C or something (that's the humidex reading, it's 36C otherwise), which is somewhere in the neighbourhood of 115F, I think. Nice.

Has anyone else been enjoying the new Gillian Welch album as much as I have? It. is. excellent.

Don't be fooled by the horrible album cover, this is a total gem. David Rawlings just might be my favorite contemporary guitar player.

I downloaded over the weekend and just dumped to the iPod, so hope to listen to it really soon.

Update. He just checked into rehab. Huzzah!

I really hope it sticks and that he gets well. What a sad story, Jesse - but let's hope this is the start of a happier outcome.

Addiction is a sad thing and that guy will have to fix it on his own. It obviously goes far beyond reason. It's not like a musician could think about trying heroin and think, "I'm sure it'll be fine. What's the worst that could happen?" Everybody knows how that movie ends. There are all kinds of psychological issues to deal with I can't even imagine. PMAs to the guy.

By the way, kudos to all my crappity buddies who turned me onto tuneyards. Those folks are suddenly everywhere and it feels good to be ahead of the curve for once.
