i'm BORED. i hate when i wake up too early and non-hungover on sundays when there's not shit to do.

I do not have any of those problems.

Oy. Had a couple peeps over last night - just me and Jeff and our friends Pat and Tim and Isabel, but somehow we managed to kill a LOT of alcohol. Our house drinks were sangria (Jeff made a huge pot of it, and we doled it out in Mexican pitchers shaped like chickens so you had to make a barfing sound, apparently, whenever you poured some out...so MATURE) and a vodka with a simple syrup that Jeff made with basil and mint from our (my) garden and lemongrass and ginger. Sooooooooo good.

Peeps brought red, and pink-lady (rose) wine and prosecco  (which we have started into today...hair of the dog and all) and we barely touched it we already had so much booze on the go. And almost no food. Oops.

Only thing I made? I made with the credit card to buy stuff so Jeff could do all the work (and I was the one who cleaned the house...like the nice married couple we are). And a dip with chives from the yard and green onions and garlic - really simple but yummers with the Greek-flavoured chips. That's right, we make potato chips taste like Greek people here.

I think I'm drunk now. Hm. Not drunk enough to dance with Jeff in the dining room like last night, but more like go-to-the-grocery-store-to-buy-potato-salad-or-something-similarly-fatty kind of drunk.

I wish I was at all y'all's place so I could regale you with awesome tales like that over beers.

Sav, I thought you didn't really like beer? I think you need to bring some white over to Tripp's.

Ryan sent me rough mixes from their session yesterday but couldn't open on my BB - file was too big, so will have to check in on the computer shortly. He was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nervous before because he thinks he's not a good enough drummer. Idjit. I had to tell him that a good engineer/producer isn't going to be judgmental, and is actually there to help you and your sound but who listens to me? I only helped build (and co-owned/managed) two 24-track studios back in the day. What do I know?

Maybe this one won't kill crappity.....

Oh. My. God. Jeff just got off the phone with Miche... the entire main stage at Ottawa's Bluesfest just collapsed due to the winds in a major thunder storm. While Cheap Trick were playing.

(Miche isn't there, just heard all the sirens for the last few minutes, and said even on his porch -- which is not close to LeBreton Flats where they do these shows -- it's hard to stand in the wind, stuff blowing violently down the street, etc.)

Very prelim reports (part 1) and (part 2) say the stage fell away from the audience (which is good) but no sign yet of injuries to band/crew (which is not). That is so fucked.

And here I was hoping for a storm to come this way and break the humidity a bit. (It's 8pm and still 90F here, feels like 102F with humidity. Dan, that's 32C/39C...but I'm sure you're in the same numbers.) I know that's not too crazy to all y'all Southerners, but when you just have fans and no A/C, that's pretty hot.

Apparently, there are no serious injuries.

Which allows one to joke about it!
