this makes no sense to me.  i was waiting on these two ladies the other night, dee dee and melinda.  dee dee used to be a state rep and melinda is like the head of the local democratic party or something.  together, they are the loudest voices the left has in these deep red parts.  they were dining with a young dude obviously not in step with the two of them politically.  at one point, melinda looked at the guy and said "there's only two reasons that anyone votes republican....either you're a millionaire, or you're a sucker.  and YOU are not a millionaire."  i smiled, filled their waters and walked away.

It's my (normal) day off tomorrow, then Friday we're closed at work (mentioned earlier my extra long weekend...yay!) and I have about 80 million things to do tomorrow (a lot of stuff, like, say, the liquor store, closed Friday for stat holiday) and somehow, I'm still avoiding.

So: Hi crappity! (And/or high, crappity.)

I could've done some stuff when I got home around 7 tonight what with it still being light out and all, but... I am classic procrastinator.

Anyway. Tomorrow night, Jeff's back for a few days so that'll be nice, and our friend Chris Page will be here to play hockey and rock out for the Ottawa team playing the annual Exclaim Cup Summit of the Arts, and, well, I really really need to whip this place back into shape. (I'm normally an organized, tidy person, though not uber-clean -- dust bunnies are apparently ok with me, as long as everything is in its place! -- but have become super-lax since I've been on my own so much the past few months. oops.) So "day off" will be all about chores. Boo.

Chris just split from his wife of 20-ish years and he doesn't yet know that I know, so talking with him about that will also be...something. Ugh.

I don't believe most homophobes are closeted gays. It's a fun trope, but it doesn't hold up much to scrutiny.

I think they just have very simplistic definitions of what a man is, and can't accept that much variation.

Agreed. Was just being a silly Republicaphobe. But we do know that some of the most vociferously ignorant, anti-gay members of that party are the ones who end up getting found out as super-homo themselves, so it's definitely fun making a bit of fun of them.
