Did we already settle this?

According to Ken Jennings " Watson is both blind and deaf to most of the events of the game (except the text of the clues and the correct answers once they're revealed, which it receives electronically) so it has no way of knowing what the last wrong answer was."

well, I established it. Dan wouldn't accept it..

I protest!  The wikipedia entry on Watson led me to believe that it understood the questions using voice recognition software.  And then I made a number of assumptions, but I always used "it is possible", "it could be", etc.

I'm not at all surprised that I was wrong, considering how little I actually knew about Watson.

By the way, in my opinion, the fact that Watson understands text and not spoken language makes him way less cool!  Dunno about you, but I wouldn't hang out with him.  talk to the hand

Do yo know why they called him Watson?  It's because it's not smart enough to be called Holmes.

Yeah, but because of this one serious matter I have to deal with, I may still be chained to my desk, and deal with some crap calls, but yeah, mostly I'm better than you.

I mean, my situation today is better.

But you (mostly) like your job anyway, right?

I also watched an Iron Chef repeat last night that was "battle crawfish." So, I could talk about those also.

Even wrote a song about it.  http://www.myspace.com/leelstheband/music

I'm just working a half day so I can go catch The Daily Show, so I'm positioned snugly between Karen and Tripp.

So to speak.

Oh, god, now Dan's congratulating me on a joke? I must be seriously un-funny.
