So I've missed the beginnings of Jeopardy all week. After the first commercial break, does Watson have to talk about his cat and that hilarious anecdote about the time when he wore mismatched socks to work and everyone noticed, like everyone else?

Also, the Nova thing is on later on PBS, re: Watson. Is that part of a series? I think Dan said yes. Hm. Should I bother watching?

Also, Jeff Mangum is playing two shows here in August at Trinity St. Paul's United Church (where Cowboy Junkies recorded their first -- and acclaimed back in the day -- album, The Trinity Sessions). Never been to the venue, but I'm sure it's purty.

So, if I can get tix, who's visiting?

p.s. I feel slightly less hysterical today, but honestly, I'm so over everything right now. Work has been maddening. Not the Jeff kind of maddening, but pretty fucking stressful - had a major shitstorm today which took up half my day (my boss, who is still in LA, teased that I could have some of the Ketel One in his office, but had to wait till 5pm, and what's the point of that?) but I'm just trying to concentrate on the good, i.e. I have tomorrow off and will only have to sort of work from home. So, yay?

What's the Matter With Kansas? the movie is depressing. Don't watch it. The book is a fascinating exploration of how one of the most populist states in the US became virulently conservative.

The movie is just a bunch of footage showing how sad they've become.

So why did Mubarak take 18 days to relinquish power? Because that's how long it took him to hide his fortune.
