Is anybody still watching The Cape? I was up and down on the pilot and found the second ep a little boring, so I decided to hang back and see how it shook out. I'm not hearing good things about how it's going, though.

From the
NYT review of Spiderman musical
:
The sheer ineptitude of this show... loses its shock value early. After 15 or 20 minutes, the central question you keep asking yourself is likely to change from “How can $65 million look so cheap?” to “How long before I’m out of here?”

The thing I find odd is, even if the songs, story, staging, and stunts were all terrific by stage standards, given that most of America just watched Spiderman onscreen in a trilogy of movies that cost around $600 million dollars collectively, how did they ever think a stage show costing a tenth of that with folding sets and actors on wires was ever going to look anything except fantastically stupid in comparison?

Well, yeah but you see... They don't sing in the movies, right?

yeah, and I like Guys and Dolls and Little Shop of Horrors and probably a couple more. I'm talking more about modern musicals (not that I'm super familiar with all of them). The music is atrocious.. RENT..? Absolutely the most over-rated pile of crap anyone has ever created..
