Lego lovers, I recommend amazon.com for basic Lego.

I bought my niece a 650 piece set for $29.95

Woa!   Shocked

 I'm not worthy!

Simon's array of Toy Story merch is mostly coincidence. We wanted to get him one of those foam toddler chairs with the washable slipcover. The only one the store had was Toy Story 3. He was in a phase where he insisted on wearing shoes every minute of every day, so we wanted to get him some slippers. The only ones that fit him were Toy Story. The Buzz doll came from Goodwill for $7. The jammies were a gift. He hasn't even actually seen Toy Story 3.

Thanks.  It's amazing how many people confuse yellow jacket wasps with bees.

This is the set I bought for $29.99.  It's pretty much no frills but there are 3 face blocks and some sloped blocks:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UD8P2A/ref=oss_product

This is another nice set...$33.99. 650 bricks, just bricks, but there are some cool colors:

Also, for $19.99 you get 100 windows and doors...

http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Bricks-LEGO%C2%AE-Doors-Windows6117/dp/B002NF1ZI6/ref=pd_sim_t_2

But if you want people or plates (both very pricey individually)...

You can drop for the motherlode...1,695 pieces (bricks, special elements, people, even some small plates) for $110.39.  Actually not a bad deal considering it pretty much has everything you want.

And used Lego is always viable in the 2nd hand market, because it's so hard to break.

tonight I scored good husband points by drawing a little portrait of Aunt Sunshine while S____ and I were visiting her this evening. Sunshine was very happy.. Not a bad way to end the year.

that should be a Monster Magnet song.

which one? the lobster song or the wasp description?  subject matter-wise,  the shark actually sounds most like a monster magnet song.
