Re: the wikileaks thing and Julian Assange, I'm with Dan. (I know lower- and mid-level government folks, too, who try to do a good job and I don't think these cables do much damage to them, do they?) This witch-hunt is, as ever, misplaced (and a tad premature, given there's been no investigation or anything. Duh.)

I'd go on and on and on and on, but I'm supposed to be getting ready for work.

This link Dan shared last night was really illuminating. Basically, it says, contrary to what is commonly held, Assange and co. are NOT just dumping these cables on the world en massse, unedited. They're filtering them through respected media outlets and working in conjunction with them to make sure that names, locations, etc. that would be dangerous to people if exposed are redacted.
