My natural inclination on the Bristol Palin/Dancing with the Stars brouhaha is not to give a shit, but then I can't help but think maybe it *is* sort of noteworthy that disturbed coalitions of Palin supporters can rally the vote to prop up an awful woman well past her true talent/competency level. Or it will be in 2012, anyway.

So two dudes who are horror fans come up with an idea for what they think is a scary horror movie: evil were-clown. For fun, they make a very real-looking fake trailer and as part of the fakery, claim it's an Eli Roth film.

Roth's people see it, alert Roth to its existence and the two guys get a call... only it's not a lawyer, it's Roth, calling to sign them to actually make the evil clown movie.

Movie looks kind of stupid, but then I'm not one of those folks who's afraid of clowns.

Still, good on them for gumption and cheers to their good fortune.

Is it more depressing that locals near this construction site immediately began protesting when they thought a mosque was being built or that the church that's actually going up there felt compelled to say "Don't worry, we're not a mosque"?

I'm on the fence about the Green Lantern trailer. I'm one of those who truly love the character and i have really high hopes that the movie gets everything right..  I hope they're still tweaking the look of his costume.. the mask looks wonky to me..  I wish they wouldn't show his pupils.  No-eyeballs = cool..  BUT all the GL's look cool. Tomar, Sinestro, Kilowog...  I'm slightly perturbed that they're going with Hector Hammond as a villain.. that means he'll be getting into Hal's psyche which means they'll be delving into Hal's 'issues'. And THAT bugs me because, in the story, the ring chooses Hal because he's fearless and strong-willed. They're making it out like he's going to have to prove himself..
but whatevs... it looks pretty cool.
