thank you sirs..  I'm posting the remix of Sold on the myspace page right now.. I EQ'd the guitars and beefed up the low end on the drums some.. and got the cymbals under control I think.. MUCH Better  (though you'll probably hear it and think "I don't hear any difference).

I hope the "(I think)!" part was a joke (though you can never tell with Dan ...  Kiss Kiss Kiss  Call Me ), because other than Cappy's (New Year's Day), Tripp's birthday is the easiest to remember.

Anyhoo. ALL MY BESTEST BIRTHDAY WISHES TO YE, TRIPP!

Happy Birthday! and x and o

By the way, I'm downloading some more Dexter eps from Pirate Bay, and this time it's taking a bazilion million years, so maybe I'm doing it "right" for once. Wink

And I'm also seeding, whatever that is. (bwah!)

My friend Chris Page's new video, which he shot himself. (He's on Kelp Records, a la Miche, Jim Bryson, etc.) It's silly but fun!

Hey, I like that!  Nice ditty too.  Short and to the point.

Yeah, it's a good'un. It's his second solo record (he was in Stand GT -- Montreal-based, previously -- if you remember them, Dan), so a lot of the songs are longer, and more singer-songwriter-y, but they're all pretty catchy. When it first came out, I listened to it obsessively for, like, 2 weeks or some such nonsense. I'm a sucker for cool guys being sappy sometimes.

Thanks Karen..!

If you're downloading a bunch of eps at once then yeah, it could take a week..  You can do it one at a time when the Utorrent box opens and shows you what you're getting, you can click everything OFF then just click ON the ones you want..  Or download all of them at once..

Happy Birthday, Tripp!

*******

I just picked up an old copy of the Mirror from my shelf, flipped though it and a review of "I'm Still Here" caught my eye.

"Affleck finally admitted that it was all a hoax. We were fooled! The fact that Phoenix managed to convince the whole world that he had completely lost it is probably the most impressive part of this film."

WHA? "WHOLE WORLD"Huh? Wait, was ANYBODY actually fooled by that? The first time I saw the clip from Letterman I just assumed it was a publicity stunt for some movie or a personal prank. When I saw the clip of him rapping in that club I thought that it was so utterly fake I couldn't believe people were paying any attention to it all. Not just fake, but REALLY FAKE. The ridiculous beard and permanent sun glasses were a big clue - the only thing that could have made it more obvious was if he had been wearing gloves and had shoeboxes on his feet.

Come to think of it, a guy at work (supplements manager who cannot believe I don't believe in homeopathic medicine) was just astounded that it was a all a stunt for a film. I don't even think that he believed me when I said that I knew that it was fake from the first second.

Fake like homeopathy.

The real hoax was perpetrated by all of Casey Affleck's friends who kept him convinced that people were fooled.

I'm glad I wasn't aware of any of that... There are benefits to living in a little bubble.

You remember that accident where Herzog was supposed to have saved what's-is-name's life?  Was that staged too?

So he believed the hoax, he believes in homeopathy, but he doesn't believe you?

Last night we had a little party at the Lair..  Really it was just Dragoon practice but CHad stopped by and Navin hung out the whole time. We did some jamming with Navin. He's quite good but it looks like his interest in music is waning a little.  Hopefully we can keep him into it. I showed Nave the bass line to After All then we jammed it with Bobby on drums.. Sounded good actually..  Nave played some drums for a bit and sounded pretty tight. I asked him how he got so good and he said 'Rock Band'..  (the video game)..  So it's good for drummers.. Not so much for guitarists.. Thats cool.. Dragoon did some jamming and I think we got tracks down for another new song, Be In My Movie..  'haven't even played that one live yet.  I love it cause it has a lot of bass lines that were inprovved by Noyel..
After practice I went to a little party. Lori McStay was dressed like a giant poptart. That was pretty hilarious.  Jared was Zombie Don Draper.. I had a couple of home-brews and that was it for me..
In a few hours we're going to our friends' Halloween wedding.. Should be fun.  They always have the best shrimp... though I guess we won't be getting into much of that..  AND Dan Ball is the photographer so we get to hang..
Don't forget the Walking Dead premieres tonight on AMC.. If you like zombie stuff you will love this.  See yall in a bit.  Try to have fun even though it's frikkin Sunday..
