I read parts of Kerry's speech on the newspaper this morning.  I know he's buttering up the average voter and all... But fuck, reading it made me think that the Shrub might not be that bad... (I know  Shocked)

I don't even want to talk about that asshole or his asshole speech.

I was trying to eat some corned beef hash while that was on and it really put me off my eggs.

Kerry's speech gave me the impression that things will stay business as usual, but Kerry might be smart enough to disguise it with diplomacy, à la Bill Clinton...

I didn't take that as exactly what you meant.

At least with the Shrub, the rest of the world knows what the US gov stands for, and can correspondingly ignore it, despise it and go it alone, with the US isolated...

yeah, that sounds great...IF YOU LIVE IN ANOTHER FUCKING COUNTRY!

Ok, I should I've told you that I was talking strictly in terms of foreign policy.  Because, you know, I do live in another fucking country...

And strictly in terms of foreign policy, Clinton was pretty bad.  He might no have invaded Iraq, but the badly implemented blocade of Iraq indirectly killed hundred of thousands of inocent Iraquis, whereas Saddam and Co. prospered... There were failed interventions in Haiti and Somalia, there were bombings of a pharmaceutical plant in Sudan, there was the whole Bosnia debacle and there was the genocide in Rwanda...

But I shouldn't be so harsh... I mean, Clinton's failings are essentially the western worlds failings, that is, regarding the third world as a resources werehouse and not minding our own business when we should, and minding our own business when we shouldn't.

I think there's little difference between the Dems and the GOP when it comes to US foreign policy.   They both have one major policy principle: we're number one, we'll stay that way and me first and gimme, gimme.

...but, y'know, what do I know?

I'd like to moderately disagree.  Clinton's foreign policy left a lot to be desired, but it was light years ahead of Bush's.

Wasn't it?

Or am I delusional?

That's pretty good.  There are a few more I could think of if I thought about it...

Better late than never.

First my computer died.

Then my internet got disgonnected.

But I'm plugged back into the cosmos again...and wireless...which took me about 3 or 4 hours to figure out.

I dunno if you're delusional...  Go ask Noam Chomsky.

My heyday of Chomsky discovery was during Clinton's administration, so, yeah, I feel ya...

I haven't talked to him lately, but surely he must find this worse.
