My job is getting ridiculous. My boss is a total crazy workaholic and expects his employees to be just as crazy about work as he is. My days are so packed with bullshit that all I can stand to do after work (which always goes until at least 7 or 8 every night) is go home and shrimp the eff out. Not exactly why I moved to LA. Blarg.

Kurt: I work at a small entertainment marketing company, who's main source of business stems from 2 major events per year. The one that's coming up in September is the super major one. Basically, at this event, all the studios present their upcoming properties for the next 12-18 months to the major brands that we have brought in. We then facilitate meetings between the studios and the brands so they can set up tie-in opportunities.

The event itself is going to be very cool- opening night party is at the Capitol Records building, presentations are at the Grauman's, etc. HOWEVER, my job has become email marketing and website maintenance (neither of which I had experience in beforehand, mind you. Doing pretty well taking that into consideration, but whatevs). Anyway, our registration numbers are way down, so my boss has kicked into insane-o desperation mode, which means I spend all of my day spamming the fuck out of the folks on our mailing list. He's also a crazy perfectionist that likes to change things every 5 minutes (literally) so that's also fun. God, I hate it! It'd be one thing if entertainment marketing was my calling, but it's sooo not. My days just feel pointless and I expend all this energy for zip in return. AND I don't get paid a ton, so I don't even have THAT going for me.

So yeah, that's what I do.

Still not sure if I'm staying on after said event. I've been offered a full-time position which I turned down, but he has offered the opportunity after the event if I want it (I'm a contractor now). I don't think I want it. But if I don't take it, I won't have a job (and will have no time to look for a job before then), so then I'd prob move back to Memphis, since I have acting things on the horizon there. But I truly have no idea what to do! fuck.

And save the PMAs- I'm a lucky girl and I know it. Would never squander good PMAs out of just being confused. Just venting and wanting some crappity input.
