S_____ goes to another writer's retreat on sunday so I'm gonna try to squeeze in some quality time between now and then. Tonight there's a show at the Buc. Vending machine and Glorie (jason paxton's band).. might go to that.. Tomorrow night is the Neckbones show with the Nerves/Plimsouls guys. Probably go to that too.

"In The Heights" at the Pantages tonight, followed by my pal's 50th birthday bash at the Disneyland Hotel. Tomorrow, afternoon and evening at Disneyland (it's Disneyland's 55th birthday tomorrow). Sunday, there are 7 bands playing in a bar parking lot on a flatbed truck directly in the path of a LAX runway. I'll bring earplugs. If I make it back home in time, I think Bobby's going to be at UCB in the early evening, too. There's another band playing in Fullerton at 10pm - but I think that's wishful thinking for this old man.

Jeff's beautiful wife M_______ served some perfectly cooked arborio rice with chix mushroom celery root, a nice fruit salad.

I got to meet Jeff's little bro Jonathan. If I had to guess what crappity lil bro he was...I wouldve said TS Caw. Dude looks like lil Caw I'm telling you.
Jeff and I drank too much beer and watched Dr Who season finale. Ultra weird. For all the new Karen Gillen fans she doesn't wear a mini skirt for a change. Just skinny skinny jeans.

I really didn't think any of all y'all were serious about Toronto.... (Besides, turns out Jeff was planning his port party for Ottawa, where most of the guest list -- Miche, Jim Bryson, Chris Page, etc. -- live. AND he was planning it for his b-day weekend, when I will be in Tejas, though he's willing to move it so I can be there. Still.)

I'm sure I'll be in the minority here, but I actually think it makes more sense to have crappitystock in the same place every year (Memphis, duh). I know that means the majority of people have to travel, and that's difficult, but a centralized event really makes sense to me, vs a "traveling" roadshow. And a bunch of people would have to travel regardless of where it is. Seems like it'd be easier if the "main" band (Dragoon, duh) involved stayed put and the peeps came to him.

I dunno.

I didn't go to volume 2, so I really shouldn't get to vote...
