One reason fb has gotten a little depressing is because it forces me to face the fact that I've got nothing on my mind.

Ladies and gentleman, a quarter to 9 am and we already have the post of the day!

I feel you, man.

.  I started a Dinosaur Jr Pandora station and I'm finding that Mascis' voice just makes me angry now..  He's so shitty.!  Also, Mac from Superchunk.. what an irritating voice.

I never go see live music theses days, and most of the stuff I used to listen to lost its flavor long ago. Mostly now I like to listen to music made by people I know. Actually, lately I've been kinda getting into the first couple of Spirit albums.

I'm gonna get someone's goat by saying this, but Built to Spill's 90s records don't so much hold up for me.

I can still get caught with my mouth hanging open over some of Doug Martsch's playing, but the songwriting really seems of that era and not always in a good way.

It's amazing to me how well a lot of stuff from the 50s and 60s holds up.

I'll tell you who else I have no patience for anymore..   fuckin' Pavement.  Mainly just because the vocals are half-assed and kinda snotty.

Oh yeah. I pull out the Stax box set every couple of years and it never ceases to floor me how awesome much of that still sounds. Ditto Elvis and many of the Sun artists.

This concert will be the deciding moment for me in how Pavement sticks with me the next few years.

Pavement's pretty good.  Just the few songs the Pandora's been playing this morning have all been ones that I never cared for.

Most of the '90s music that I don't like now is stuff that I was only peripherally into in the first place. I think my era of questionable taste was the early '80s. The Boomtown Rats? Really? Talk about pretentious claptrap. I loved them for a minute. But I guess I can be forgiven. In 10th grade in New Jersey it was basically "anything but Springsteen".
