All G20 protests set to take place in Trinity Bellwoods Park (which is one street over from my house). Awesome.

(Also, my commute takes me along the "outer yellow zone" of the security area - I live just off Queen St. West, and work on Queen St. East -- so that'll drag things along nicely, too.)

(AND Kensington Market won't be able to get permitted for their monthly Pedestrian Sunday event -- last Sunday of every month is car-free in the Market. Can't figure out that one, but...BASTARDS.)

Congrats on the Dragoon record. Will figure out how I'm getting it at some point.

And PMAs on whatever downers are happening.

PMAs to Steven Drozd, too, to all who are friends.

Ok, that should do it. Byeee.

Hawking's show seemed alright based on the aliens ep. Maybe it's just me mentally comparing it to the Errol Morris doc about him, which is unfair. But it seemed aimed at a more introductory level than a guy with a fanbase like his really needs. And using an actor to narrate as Hawking was a drag.

Haven't seen it yet, but it spawned some cool stuff yesterday.     These two regulars on my commute bus who always talk about pretty MOR type stuff: tools, basketball, CSI etc.,  had both watched the Hawking show and were clearly very excited and tripped out by it.   Very animated conversation trying to explain to each other the parts they understood.

That makes it worthwhile before I even see it.

Yeppers.   we were texting last night and he says he's going to be fine.    I didn't ask for details because of his history and the fact that they are being intentionally vague.      Hope all is well, he is such an awesome loving dood.

Cheeseburgers with donuts for buns...

The blogger talks about eating 3 of them.  If you just ate one, you wouldn't be fat.  You'd be disgusting, but you wouldn't be fat.

Jeff, I think you overestimate people's understanding of theoretical physics...and overestimating Hawking's fan base relative to the mass requirements of commercial television.

But I did not see the Alien episode and don't know how dumbed down it was.  I saw the last 45 minutes of the Time Travel episode.

No, it's not as good as Brief History of Time, but it was interesting.

I guess the worst part is that Hawking doesn't narrate the whole thing...but he does some.

I always think Hawking actually does well when he narrates. Between what he says being interesting, him being adept at using pacing for emphasis in lieu of tone, and let's face it-the weird appeal of his robovoice-I always enjoy him.

Nice to see Karen here.

If this Arizona law stands, there will be a whole slew of negative unintended consequences beginning with the mass exodus of illegals to srrounding conservative states. Even if the illegals could all be sent back to Mexico, a country with widespread joblessness and poverty with an unstable government and huge areas of lawlessness, I don't think that would be good for their country or ours.

But you know, Ev, for every complex problem there is a solution that is clear, simple and wrong!
