I hope this pastor ends up wildly popular among evangelicals. He's controversial because he says Christians get Christ all wrong, focusing on his violent death as a blood sacrifice, rather than taking any lessons from the life he led, the lessons he taught, his focus on the poor and the sick, and his contempt for religious leaders. He also teaches that non-Christians have every right to get to heaven if they lead good lives and that the "prosperity gospel" is immoral and baseless.

If this guy can gain traction and help redirect Christianity, I will cheerfully stop bitching about it.

I mean, his take on theology is still so much "sky cake," but at least it's humane.

I would like someone to ask him his opinion on abortion, contraception, homosexuality  and evolution.  Lets see how "humane" he is!
