I dunno, I don't think he makes people with legitimate beefs look crazy, just people who fly planes into buildings based on those beefs. I have a hard time telling how legitimate his beefs were too (because of my ignorance on how the tax code applies to engineers, etc). So the less legitimate his beefs turn out to be the less crazy people with legitimate beefs will look I guess.

my cousin Tyler's band
he's the drummer.. I think you'll agree he's a good drummer but you won't like his band.
Is he the drummer for Gwar?

and so far he's such a hot potato that no one is accusing the other political side of being responsible (yet). You know it's coming, but if nothing else it was surprisingly post-partisan for a suicide note.
not necessarily so. the left is trying to call him a teabagger (anti-govt/anti-tax) and the right is trying to call him an anti-capitalist/ socialist (a couple lines in his manisfesto seemed somewhat commie sympathetic) both sides have a legitimate point, but to point fingers is impractical and counter productive. this is a perfect chance for both sides to find some middle ground. it just goes to show that not everyone lines up neatly behind any particular party/agenda. there are in fact bat shit crazy people who are truly "lone wolf" types. and you don't have to be brown to be a terrorist. the fact that no one wants to call this guy a terrorist is insane. a guy flies a plane into a government building because he disagrees with said government's policies. releases a statement blaming said government for his actions. uhhhhhhh....familiar? not really. those other people were BROWN!!
Has that started to happen yet? I haven't seen it, but I guess I'm not really a big observer of the 24 hour news cycle. Yesterday I just saw people trying to distance their side from him, moreso than pin the blame on the other side.

I have zero sympathy for anyone whose major complaint in life is the tax code. If you've got enough money for that to really be your main beef then your problems are nowhere near as big as you think they are. One in eight adults and one in four children in America are on food stamps. If you're bitching about a piano you can't deduct while flying a plane you own (he apparently did) into a building of people who didn't even write said tax code you've really really really lost the thread.
He came off a little more in touch with reality than your average poverty-stricken prole who thinks the inheritance tax should be abolished because the billionaire who owns Fox told them so, but that's about the nicest thing I can think of to say. The part that's interesting (maybe not the best word) to me right now is how this is an event that practically begs to be politicized, and so far he's such a hot potato that no one is accusing the other political side of being responsible (yet). You know it's coming, but if nothing else it was surprisingly post-partisan for a suicide note. h
Yes and yes. Pretty well sums up my second round of thoughts on the matter.

Enough about all this insignificant stuff happening in the world. Let's talk about me. After 2 weeks of struggle, I'm finally able to play Minuet in G with very few mistakes at 77 beats per minute. 2 weeks ago, I couldn't even play it at 40 bpm. So anyway, a minor victory in my struggle to learn to play the guitar before I'm too old and arthritic. Huzzah!
