Yup. No biggie. As I understand the Richter scale, our 3.8 earthquake was somewhere around 1/1000th as powerful as the Haiti earthquake. I think it woke some people up and pissed off some pets. That was about it.

3.8 in the Richter scale is just a tiny mild shake, enough to make things rattle, but it rarely causes any damage.  There are about 50 000 of them every year all over the world.

That's correct, the Richter scale is base 10 logarithmic: an earthquake of magnitude 5 is 10 times as strong as a magnitude 4 and 100 as strong as a magnitude 3.

Is there a stupid proof way of ripping DVDs to a Mac?  Preferably free, of course.  I have a number of instructional DVDs that I consult a lot, and it's a drag having to put the DVD in each time.
