Or, worst of all, he may resist and end up in jail.
Yeah and he's pretty angry. Plus he might panic and think they're picking him up for his, uh, indiscretions.

Well, little Sophie got her flu shot tonight. She took it better than I thought. My wife and my daughter are now immunised against H1N1. My stepdaughter's next. According to the medical authorities, I'm low on the list of priorities, so I probably won't get my shot before early December.

How does it feel to be low priority?

I gotta remind myself not to smile in any more pictures. I've got a very big toothy grin that isn't very flattering, imo.
You are a beautiful man, Evan. Your toothy grin is infectious. At least you don't have a set of hog jowls hanging off your head like I do. I am constantly paying attention to which way my fat head is turned in pictures. This weekend's were exceptions to the rule.
i'd happily sleep with all you guys if it weren't for the wiener thing. good lookin bunch of folk. being sexy is a prerequisite for crappity membership. the only thing i find sexier than an infectious toothy grin is when it's encased in manly hog jowls.
and thanks all y'all for the flattery. i was scared that i ruined any points earned with "for those about to rock" with my butchering of several grifters tunes due to lack of prep and inebriation. luckily there was a pretty frickin good band and some tasty co-singers making up for my shortcomings.....

ok. lowdown on crappitystock 2.5: ida edition.
i get home sunday night to find out A) our bathroom was NOWHERE NEAR finished. kim and her dad ran into some unforeseen plumbing nightmares and had to call a professional. which took 6 hours. and he charged double for sunday. so we've got our handyman coming to finish the job so we can all get back to work. B) there's a goddamn hurricane coming and is due to hit MONDAY NIGHT at about the same time as the home/acorns/purple words show. C) they are most likely shutting down the beach/closing bridges so we won't be able to stay at the condo and we have company coming with nowhere to go.....
so i was a little anxious about it all. several things happened to ease my mind. A) the storm veered further west than expected, and didn't come ashore until tuesday morning. B) it pretty much fizzled out leaving the beach/bridges open. C) i got a text message from the museum director saying we were closed tuesday due to the storm. (ONE MORE DAY OF VACAY!! I GET TO PARTY A LITTLE MORE!!)
got a hold of shane/terry/brandon to see if they wanted to practice a little bit before the show. we met at sluggo's about 5ish but terrry forgot her bass. thought it was already at the club. but she couldn't go get it for various transportation reasons. shane had access to scott's(acorns) bass, but terry is left handed. so practice didn't happen. a little later, HOME showed up at the condo, kim got them settled in and told me they went for seafood. upon hearing this, shane jokingly asked "did you tell them about "landry's"? (landry's is a chain restaurant and is known by local folk as the WORST NON-LOCAL FROZEN SEAFOOD CRAP YOU CAN EAT) kim thought they were headed to "peg leg pete's", a pretty good spot on the beach. when they arrived at sluggo's i asked where they ate. "landry's" was the reply. i laughed. they said it was terrible. the storm did seem to keep people from going out monday night, but a few folks did show up and terry passed around a donation jar for Home. we managed to get a practice run of "cowgirl" in and people in the other side of the bar (club is separated into a bar/restaurant and an adjacent show space) mistook it for the real thing, so we turned up a bit and finished the song. we then aploogized for the false alam and took a break to get our heads straight. after that, i asked eric if he's sit in with us on a few. he happily obliged.. we got started a bit later (maybe 10ish) and ran through our set fairly quickly. i gave eric a cheat sheet with the chords, but they were wrong. eric added some lovely bits, particularly to the endings, that really propped up our amateurism a bit. was a treat to have him aboard as an honorary word. a couple of weak moments. the rest of the band went into the ending of "powderfinger" after the third verse rather than the fourth, which to me is the most important, but i don't think anyone else noticed. also, i came in with an unnecessary chorus instead of the verse on "roll another number", so that song got the extended remixx. again, i may have been the only one to notice. all in all, i think it was a pretty good set. not sure what kind of video/photogrraphic evidence is out there, but i'll share any that pops up. Home played second. very impressed with the musicianship of those 3. great songs, great set, great guys. i didn't realize the captain was so proficient on drums and guitar. i really hope we can convince them back on a night when more people can appreciate what they do. goddamn hurrican fuckin up the big shew... by the end of their set i was pretty loaded and didn't pay attention to acorns (who played last) as close as i'd have preferred, but like i said, the message from the director served as a license to get super shitty...and i did. (post-show details coming later.. gotta get some work done. i'm a week and a half behind on EVERYTHING!!!)
