THE JAY LENO SHOW WILL BE SHOWN IN ITS ENTIRETY IMMEDIATELY AFTER GIANTS BASEBALL.
So, i got to see some of the jay leno show tonight, he was delayed to the point where his video homunculus is before me on the tv screen, parading around in various skits that reference i guess nbc shows i haven't seen. he's pretty comfortable. he's got an audience who thinks he's the shit.
And now here's conan o brien, who has to do jokes to jay leno's old audience. That's a no-win situation.
Maybe I'll still be logged on for the next show, when jimmy fallon does his light-hearted thing. But I've got a new album passed along to me, david bowie's "low?"
This post took me hours, now i remember. i kind of plant myself and graze on here, you guys are so fast. I feel like a protozoon on a spaceship, praise god.
Just saying...

And talking about (Ash) Bowie: I'm really digging the new Polvo record. A link in the chain, in particular. It still sounds like Polvo, but a laid back, atmospheric Polvo. It's as if Polvo decided to play shoegaze.

I had to bail on the video... does it end with him blowing his fucking head off? That would be good. One motion shot... very Chris Marker.
I guy can hope, right?

Since we've been on a zombie jag as of late, Heather and I watched [• REC] last night. As horror movies go... it was very well made, though it wasn't actually scary, which knocks it down a couple of notches. The Blair Witch-style handheld shooting did Heather in, though, and she had to bail 15 minutes before the end. Haven't seen the American remake (Quarantine) yet, but I'm not sure that I need to...

So the Cooper-Young Festival now starts in the parking lot where I work. Last night they kicked off the weekend long event with a 4 Miler that takes place at our building.. So around 4 yesterday it started getting crowded and I split.. They had an Outback Steakhouse tent and a Miller Beer truck and a cheesy cover band..
YOU MAY REMEMBER that the Dragoon's Lair is right across the street from where I work.. SO at 7 when I went to band practice they had cop cars blocking off all the streets that lead to the Lair.. So I reasoned with the cop who wasn't going to let me through and I just told him I had band practice.. He begrudgingly let me through. And yeah, there were a zillion cars parked all over the place.. and there were about 2,000 people collected at the end of the street, waiting to start the race..
Bobby got there second and also got stopped by our cop.. Bobby told him he worked for the Garden District and had to get to the warehouse to pick up arrangements or something.. he eventually got through as well..
Then Stan got stopped and he just said he had a van full of equipment that had to be delivered.. The cop made Stan get out and go over a map of the area to show him the precise location where he was headed.... 20 yards away.
So stan got through.. he pulled up, got out of his van and then started telling the crowd of 2,000 people to fuck off and go home... good times..
We had people we knew (who ran the 4 miler) stopping by the Lair all night. No doubt looking for shrimp. So we didn't even get started til 10.. Then Jared came over and he jammed with us til after midnight.. A very good friday night indeed..
