Well, Matthew, they also have different color hair and stand different heights.

I am aware they are not identical. I am not describing them as identical women with identical careers marketed toward an identical crowd and experiencing identical success in the same era.

(Digression: Raitt is marketed toward country fans in Canada? Odd. All of her albums and charted singles were on the pop charts here, not country. Not one of 'em.)

All I am saying is, all I ever said was (and pity you deleted my post and I have to retype this): Raitt's late 80s/early 90s pop stuff and Crow's music are strictly top 40 material, but get to enjoy a certain warm air of legitimacy with AOR rock fans simply because the artists are good-looking middle-aged women they can take seriously since they play guitar and hobknob with more traditional AOR types. I find that annoying. That was and remains the extent of my comparison. If any of that is untrue, I'd love to keep debating. If you want to keep differentiating them on levels I wasn't comparing them on, well.. either way, let's just wrap it up.

I wouldn't even have typed anything else on this but you deleted not just your half of the argument, but mine too.

Which sucks, frankly.
