still recovering from the Antenna Reunion.. It was a blast..  Alot of fun.. the Simpletones and Impala were both extraordinary.  The best sets I've seen from both of those bands possible ever.. I really hope the Simpletones reunite for reals..  we stayed out late and got drunk... more later..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVAN.!

Some evil genius created a program that combines random Twitter updates with cartoons of dinosaurs.

So whatever you see in the following image will be random and will change every time you refresh.

Y'all ever seen this?

C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America is a 2004 mockumentary presenting a fictional tongue in cheek account of an alternate history in which the Confederates won the American Civil War. The movie is presented as if it were a British documentary being broadcast on Confederate network television. As such, it disagrees with the orthodox Confederate American interpretation of American history and opens with a (fictional) disclaimer that suggests that censorship came close to preventing the broadcast, that its point of view might not coincide with that of the TV network, and that it might not be suitable for viewing by children and "servants."

It's actually pretty funny and clever.

There's an amusing science-fiction book by Ward Moore called Bring the Jubilee that is exactly on that subject.  It's an alternate history that explores the subject of what if the Confederacy had won the Civil War.

Crap, Jim Dickinson? That's sad. He produced some of my favorite records--Big Star, the Replacements. He did some great weird-ass roots music of his own, too. Dixie Fried is an essential slice of southern weirdness. If anyone needs a copy of that, lemme know and I'll upload it somewheres...

I love this song... the carnival barker spoken word intro alone is worth the cost of the record:
Right this way, ladies gentlemen, right this way to see the greatest conglomeration of curiosities ever gathered under one canvas tent
See the Indian Rubber Boy, Two-Ton Tiny the Fat Lady!
See Prince Juju Bobo the Sword Swallower! He also is the snake charmer.
See Princess Karma perform her spectacular dance suspended up high above the heads of the audience...
On a pallet surface no larger than a silver dime!
She performs her dance accompanied by the weird music of a tom-tom orchestra...
Led by myriad rays of thousands of tiny electric light bulbs...
Every nerve, every muscle, every fiber of her body quivers like jelly in the bowl.
Bring your friends, family, and children or they will reproach you in later life for this uncalled-for lack in their education.
One dime, two nickels, the tenth part of a dollar!
You may receive instructions. Don't push, don't shove. There's room for one and all.

Head on collision of two freight trains, as filmed by the onboard camera on one of them. at 0:43, you can see a guy bail out of the other one. No deaths, but there were serious injuries on both crews.
