Saw Funny People yesterday..  it sucked.

mornin y'all.    fun weekend with boys and my girlie.    lots more boxes unloaded, but still plenty more to go.   She's kind of a clothes horse.    Both of the dressers in the bedroom are now dedicated to just underthings.     We've turned the computer room into a giant walk in closet.

so today is the day of my friend carlos' memorial.  he was of native american decent so there is no "funeral" so to speak with a preacher/church/etc....just a "pot-luck" celebration of his life.  i was in charge of creating a dvd "slideshow" of pictures documenting the 58 years of his life.  from right after popping out to  the day before he passed.  wow.  going through/scanning all those old photos has been somewhat heartbreaking.  but he looks like he's had a blast from start to finish.  some are some super great photos of him late sixties/early seventies that are hysterical. if i can figure out how to upload the slideshow to youtube (also get permission from his family first) i'll share it. 


btw, the "official" cause of death was ruled drowning.  apparently he tripped somehow and hit his head, knocking himself out. he landed in a ditch in the woods behind his house in such a way that his face was submerged in just enough water to keep him from breathing.  total freak accident.

also, he had bought a bunch of mushrooms before the dylan show, but he didn't take them.  it is now being speculated that he ate them saturday night, which would explain why his wife didn't bother looking for him when he went to 'investigate some noises' outside, and didn't immediately return.  i don't think this rumor has spread beyond close friends and i hope it never does.  but it does make sense.  carlos was certainly fond of his psychedelics.

that had to be very very hard to work on.    good for you for doing it.  beautiful way to reflect on a life well spent.

but yeah, I gotta get my buddy to fix it (and be more clear that its not released yet), unforch he is in some insanely backwater forest area at the Canadian border.     he and his brothers get to an island, park rangers come by and dig them a hole to poop in, and they just fish and shoot the breeze for a week.

Saw Funny People yesterday..  it sucked.

I'll see Funny People when it comes to HBO or someone gives me a screener. I really don't want to sit through it.

The contractors have been working hard on our house all day, every day since Thursday. Heather and I spent the daylight hours sitting in the living room reading and keeping the dogs calm. Friday and Saturday nights we went to local art openings and then had nice dinners "out". Last night, we hit a diner for dinner and came home to enjoy the original "Night of the Living Dead." It was bliss.

but I will say that I have no desire whatsoever to sit through that crap-fest ever again..

I'll say this.... there's a little part towards the end where Leslie Mann makes Rogen and Sandler watch a home video of her daughter performing Memories (from Cats) at a school play. You're watching it and you realize it's NOT something they filmed for the movie, it's REALLY from her school play in real life. And I'm like, 'great.. now we have to sit through home videos of their kids... I WANT TO LEAVE.'..  Apatow has gotten some good material from going the realistic route but this just felt like cheating.

hey y'all! seems like everyone is doing well around here. (p.s. to pat- that is really awesome that you made that slideshow. those are so powerful at a time like this. good on you.)

so, this is our last week of shooting! we had really great shoots this weekend. yesterday, we went down to holly springs, MS where i got to drive this '33 ford roadster. IT WAS SO AWESOME!! beeee-yoo-tee-ful car and the location was so perfect. friday, we shot all night out at our primary location which is where the second pic was taken (old sharecropper shack on the property). that night was insane- we literally shot until the sun came up.

bu anyway, basically i just wanna show off the pic of me and corey and this fucking car.
