It's so hard to have a gay time on your own.

It's more like a party than an ice cream.

hey y'all! we are still plugging away at the movie. i feel like all i do is sleep and do movie-ing. so y'all forgive me if i talk about nothing else. here's another still from the set- this is from a scene where i'm getting ready for the big yard party (where s____ and pals were extras. that was so much fun!) you gotta dig the grandma nightgown.

aw man, thanks. i swear i could go on and on. this has been the most intense thing i think i've ever done. long long loooong hours and it is surprisingly taxing emotion-wise. even if you're just shooting small incidental scenes, you get really ramped up for hours in advance- from the moment you start getting your hair done 'til the moment you get home. it's a weird feeling.

the other night, we were shooting until 5 a.m. of course, we shot the most intense scenes last (at about 4 a.m.)- a scene where i have a catfight with my sister-in-law and then they had to get shots of me reacting to a VERY emotional speech that my mother in the movie makes. i was so tired and so overwhelmed that by the time they got to my reaction shots, it was absolutely no problem for me to produce tears. afterwards, everyone was like "omg! that was amazing!" and all i can think is "omg! thank god i'm an emotional wreck right now- this totally works!" but it is very hard to come back to reality after all that- it is very, very strange. i wish i could explain it better. i think i will have aged 5 years by the time we're done with this. [/seriousness]

but there's also lots of fun behind the scenes drama, that the theater queen in me just LOVES!

Cheesy

My buddy Phineas is now trying to make a full-on living at making silk-screened posters for shows. He's trying to move up the food chain into bigger bands so he can sell more posters. He just (grudgingly) did a Phish poster (they paid him 5 G, so he had no choice, really, being unemployed and all). He also did this Magnolia Electric Company poster (though it sold for shit). And this X poster. (Which did okay.)

Really what he needs is bands with devoted merch-buying fans.

Bamah it sounds like an awesome time.

Making movies can be crazy draining. Yo daddy's production is a lot bigger than anything I've ever been part of but I could relate to a lot of the feelings you're expressing.
