But this one is special: it happened in a place I know, in front of which I pass frequently, and it's completely random.  Just think about it: had they sat at another table, eaten faster, arrived sooner, gone to the loo, whatever, it wouldn't have happened to them.  It is a crushing reminder, a demonstration, of one of the main properties of the Universe: contingency.
