As for Mr. Shalabi and co, I never saw them live, and I've only been exposed to his music on the radio.  I like to read while listening to music on the radio, and I tend to only come out of my reading induced reverie when some compelling music plays.  I don't think I’ve ever noticed Mr. Shalabi’s music...  Which probably means that I’m quite indifferent to it…

No bass=White Stripes?...how 'bout the Gories? Or the Oblivians?

Seriously though, I've never looked at the Stripes like they're a bassless band...I see them as a guitar and drums duo.

Besides, we'd be guitar-drums-synthesizer...
