Speaking of Daniel Rosaisagirlsname, I don't think we neccessarily need a bassist...but I suppose we could if you've got one who isn't a total stranger to me. We could always jam with my bud, Jer, and see where that weirdness might lead.

Speaking of weirdness, my sister is now seeing this Musique Actuelle guy and...well, I might be jamming with him at some point. What do you think of Sam Shalabi? I hate the Shalabi Effect ever since I saw them open for those ball-bouncing mothers several years back. Plus, I didn't think much of the Shalabi Effect LP which the press creamed their collective pants over. Much of it is shit I've played on guitar while stoned...and I can't play. The best thing about that beyond dull album was the sleeve photo of the stars forming in the Eagle Nebula.

Anyway, she's not seeing him but this other dude who played and wrote for/in Shalabi's Alma Venus piece which was performed at Victoriaville last week or so. Listened to it a couple nights ago on 100.5FM and some parts were okay but it was largely pretentious musique actuelle noise with embarrassing spoken word bits and political commentary. The bit that Justin wrote was the nicest bit (it was played as a quiet bit between Shalabi's stuff). Evans' music was 'pretty' and pretty interesting...kinda like a sliver of a tune off of Soft Bulletin (more grandiose and humanist than pseudo-artsy). Anyway, Evans usually plays with Rivers and Mountains. They've played some shows at Casa, ever seen any, Dan? I haven't. He's also in a band called 'Olim' which is comprised of much of the staff from Esoteric (where he works). Another guy from that place also played in the Alma Venus performance.

Evans seems like a nice guy...older than I...32! (my sis is 22)...and he's from Vancouver...but, let's not hold that against him.

Um...actually, I'm guessing that you're familiar with Shalabi and that scene since you love Godspeed so...

I know, I know...that's how I feel as well, Mr. Brown. The computer is so depressingly dull to complain about. I simply cannot envision a great novel concerning the trials and tribulations of a man struggling with his computer. Women, life, the bottle and the the stars are brave words and they make the page.

Oh yeah, when I went out to the Ecomuseum I had some hot 7 year old chicks chasing me! OH YEAH! They asked me how old I was- "26". They found that this fell within their exceptable range and moved on to their next question: "Do you have a girlfriend?". They were a tad more giggly about the second question...the little black girl dove and hid behind the desk (the Indian girl was asking for her).

I've still got it.
