I am surprised to even remember this, but in Jackson's case, there was one allegation of child abuse that was ever considered serious enough to pursue. And in that case, the reputed victim's dad was recorded saying something along the lines of "We're sitting on a gold mine here. He's going to have to give us everything we ever wanted or his career is over." Jackson settled out of court to avoid the uncomfortable spectacle of a trial but given that wildly damning audio clip, many, many legal analysts were confident he would have won anyway.

Given that hundreds of other kids spent the night with him without similar complaints, you have to at least entertain the possibility that the guy was nuts but not a pedophile.

It's just surprising. Nobody expected him to be the 3rd.

I never really considered him a musician since I never saw him play anything.

I just think it's sad to see fame eat someone alive.

We can joke about poor, rich celebrities, but I think we can all agree that in actuality, there comes a point where the benefits of being __% more famous are wildly outweighed by the deficits.

It's what killed Elvis, as far as I am concerned and it's a sad story to see again.

Usher could play young MJ and Cate Blanchett could play middle-aged MJ.

Does this mean Paul McCartney can get his songs back?

Paul has said he wouldn't feel right owning the Lennon/McCartney catalog unless it was jointly with Yoko. And she wasn't  interested. That's how it made it down the chain to be offered to Jackson.
