PMAs to Kurto, who'll be pumpin' for the man this weekend when he ought to be drinkin' and rockin' Mempho-style.

My weekend is sorta starting now. I mean, I have bad boy driving school but no real work.

I know shit all about Macs, but I believe there are a number of Linux distros that are said to be faster on older Macs.

Ubuntu Linux is the hot shit right now, But I don't know a thing about it.

If you have enough room on the drive, I'd do a clean install of the OS - making sure to keep a backup of the old system folder...

Otherwise, you could run TechTool Pro, which does a surprisingly good job of cleaning up messy HDs...

Thanks...I'll try the techtool pro first.

It's funny cause I'm not if it's running slow...or I just haven't used it...i'll try that tech tool pro thing...

I wonder if there's something in the stimulus package about getting a new mac for the newly unemployed?

How much RAM does it have?  I don't think upgrading the OS is going to help.  It might even slow things down even more.  Increase RAM, and clean it up.

Linux distros?

Versions of the free Linux operating system. Works smooth on Mac software. Basically, you'd be replacing the Apple operating system with an open source thing that runs faster. There's new stuff to learn, programs you'd have to replace... so it can be less than ideal.

Here's Ubuntu, the most popular Linux at the moment.
