Sufjan Stevens/Calexico -- That's one hell of a good ACL episode.

Saw Terminator: Salvation tonight.  It's watchable but worst of the series.

If you thought Star Trek was bad SF, well...this is worse.

I did like the CGI Arnold circa 1984.  Pretty cool effect.

Watch that Sufjan video and tell me that girl playing the harpsichord (or whatever) is not the cutest woman in the world.

it was pretty good..  in the opening bit Conan runs across America to get to California but once he gets there he realizes he left the keys in NYC.. the set is cool.. great curtains..  it's not in the old Tonight Show studio though. It;s on the Universal theme park lot apparently.  So expect to see a lot of cross-promotional bits going on..  last night Conan hosted the Universal tour.. pretty funny ..

Becky and I flipped on the boob tube the other night and were treated to the insufferable Jimmy Fallon drowning on Late Night. I am no fan of late night talk shows, nor do I find Fallon at all likable, but it was incredibly and undeniably bad. Even though I am certain there was an applause sign glowing above them, the audience just wasn't laughing...at all.

Fallon looked uncomfortable in his suit, and he was twitchy and nervous, laughing at his own jokes as if to beg for mercy. He then stumbled through a dreadful sketch and once again revealed how untalented a performer he is. Devoid of comic timing, he seems to think he can just stand there and be cute/handsome and people will overlook his lack of humor. Can the man at least WRITE comedy? All I remember is him churning out inferior forgeries of Adam Sandler and Mike Myers skits on SNL?

I almost felt bad for him (I mean, I would have felt bed if the hack hadn't made more money in the fifteen minutes I watched him than I have in the last five years) during a pitiful sketch where had The Roots perform a song in a particular style (Beach Boys, Paul Simon, etc.) based on the biography of audience members. As Fallon spoke to a particularly dorky audience member who obviously fancied himself an amateur humourist, I couldn't help but notice that this 'nobody' was receiving far more laughs from the studio audience than Fallon had in the first ten minutes of the show.

Excruciating.

It almost makes me want to watch regularly. A live action train wreck.

The Roots apparently think the Beach Boys sounded like Chuck Berry.
