Comcast finally cut my cable  (I cancelled it  3 weeks ago)  so I hooked up an old antenna and now I got 8 free HD channels..  and soon I figure I'm gonna buy a Mini Mac and have that hooked up to the tv so I can just start watching the internet on tv.. Sherm's already got Apple TV.. he's got like a million hours worth of shit backed up to watch..

DVRs are a mixed blessing. Sure, you can postpone watching shows ad infinitum, but sometimes you wind up just stockpiling great shows forever. I just finished Lost this weekend, but I have yet to watch a single episode of last season's Dexter.. and I have about 8 episodes of Fringe just sitting there...

Tragic.

I'm really enjoying the Grizzly Bear album. I went to a record release party at my local new-vinyl-only record shop - Origami Vinyl.

You can scroll down the page to see the video in question.

Or you can just watch it here:

This kind of ultra-precious lush pop sometimes gets on my nerves...  Nevertheless, that was cool.  Good song.

I don't watch many new horror movies.  I'm not much interested in 90 minutes of torture porn.

BINGO! my feelings exactly.

Me too. Why do I want to see people getting dismembered and killed? Ugh.

That whole torture thing is just a sub-genre/trend, 10%, maybe 15% of horror movies, tops. There are a lot of lousy horror movies (same as any other genre) but still some good ones on a semi-regular basis. I'll never give them up because so many of the most entertaining directors start out in horror.

I actually need to carve out some time and watch this year's AfterDark Festival movies. There's usually a winner or two in there.
