THE CLEARS!  (great memphis band from the late 90's,  recorded much of their only record in me and Roy's living room)

Robert Plant....was a distinctive singer whose style was repeatedly ripped off by inferior hacks.

robert plant:  "i come from the land of ice and snow."

david coverdale:  "so do i."

btw, led zeppelin III has always been my favorite followed by I and physical graffiti, at least based on how much i listened to each growing up.  lately though. i'm starting to realize how good houses of the holy was.  i hated "dy'er maker" and "over the hills and far away" so much that i just quit listening to the recod. (the latter mainly due to lame asses playing that shit on their acoustic guitars at parties more often than "wish you were here"- i just couldn't stand it anymore)  i was always very fond of presence, too.

Houses of the Holy on 8-track was my door into Led Zep.    Loved it.     But yep, II and III get much more play these days.

my freshman year of high-school  (80-81)  I rode to school with my sister (who was a senior) in her bad-ass Opal GT..  Every morning in the 8 track player it was either 38 Special, ACDC (back in black)  or Houses ofthe Holy.. I only ever wanted to hear HotH..  though I did love Back in Black..

You should've thrown the 38 Special out the window.

God, I loved that album back in the day. I suppose I would still love it today, but I haven't listened to it in some time.
