ight,  new member = jspan.

my friend Jeremy from Milwaukee..

Ok, since he comes highly recommended, I took the liberty of approving Jeremy's registration (to avoid fake spambots, all new members have to be approved by someone with admin powers: not hard work, all I had to do is click a button).  I figure Jeff won't mind.  Jeremy is now our newest member.

So welcome Jeremy.  Can I call you Jer?  And then can I repeatedly ask you if you want to jam?

Free! Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business. Interesting article previewing an even more interesting-sounding book.

By the way, I'm enjoying Led Zeppelin III. "Gallows Pole" and "Since I've Been Loving You" are favorites. Thanks for the recs.

I'm starting to realize the extent to which Robert Plant's situation parallels Eddie Vedder's--love him or hate him, he was a distinctive singer whose style was repeatedly ripped off by inferior hacks. I like Plant's phrasing very much when he's in his lower register. I love the way he draws out "love" ("...she's the only one I really love") from "Hey Hey What Can I Do."

Having mostly only heard the "epic" and loud Zep stuff before, I hadn't really gotten a chance to soak in the very individual way he sings blues. Compare that to the self-conscious way that contemporaries like Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac were aping the Chicago Blues style... well, there's no comparison at all, is there?
